WHATCOM COMMUNITY COUNTS:

The Health of Our Community - in a Snapshot

The Whatcom Coalition for Healthy Communities has launched a new web tool (Summer, 2006) based on the community indicator project initiated in 2002, Community Counts.

This new web interface will highlight quality and useful information about a broad range of community health topics in Whatcom County. The electronic version of Community Counts will dynamically display:

  • a dashboard of indicators
  • leads to promising practices from around the country
  • contacts for local resources
  • links to quality news and information
  • community conversations and local feature stories

The Coalition is working with partners Whatcom County, city of Bellingham, Port of Bellingham, United Way, Western Washington University, St. Lukes Foundation and St. Joseph Hospital on this project with additional funding from Boeing Employees Community fund.

Community Counts 2002 opened a dialogue on the things that matter most to residents of Whatcom County - our health and well being. This new web tool, Whatcom Community Counts will continue that dialogue.

Visit communitycounts.info for the dynamic online publication of Community Counts 2002.
